We had approximately $4000 remaining, and we decided to put it into the Odede feeding program. With a farm donated, we used our funds to plant maize, beans, tomatoes, onions, banana trees, watermelon, build a chicken coop and a goat pen. There will be enough planted to feed the children at the early learning centre and the child rescue centre breakfast and lunch, and there will be enough left over to produce income to replant for the following year. This is now a fully self sustaining project. Previous volunteers who have taught at the Odede early learning centre have seen the children pass out in front of them from hunger, so this is a very exciting project which will affect around 200 children.
